FAQ: Jumper Valves or Ceramic Disc Valves?

Article Source: Faucet Strommen

Faucet Strommen lever taps feature German made ¼ turn ceramic disc cartridges, however if you are choosing cross handle three-piece tapware you may be considering what type of valves to choose; jumper valves or ceramic disc valves?

Copper Jumpers are the traditional screw down valves. Faucet Strommen’s standard cross handle taps use highly durable Australian made copper jumpers with polyurethane washers. These provide an excellent drip free seal with a light action and will far outlast traditional black rubber jumpers. These are however wearing parts and generally need to be replaced around every 5 years.

Faucet Strommen German made ¾ turn ceramic disc valves, on the other hand, should not need to be replaced and are covered by a 15 year warranty. Ceramic discs are certainly the luxury option but are obviously a little more expensive initially.
