Terminology

Your toilet will either be an S trap toilet or a P trap toilet. And it will either be a bottom inlet or a back entry.

S Trap – A S trap toilet is a toilet that drains through the floor.

P Trap – A P trap toilet is a toilet that drains through the wall.

Back Entry – Water enters cistern through back of cistern. There will be no tap next to the toilet.

Bottom Inlet – Water enters cistern through the side of the toilet pan. There will be a small tap to one side of your toilet.

S Trap Set Out

When measuring your S trap set out please take the measurement from the middle of the drain back to the wall in millimetres.

This is your s trap set out.

P Trap Set Out

When measuring your P trap set out please take the measurement from the middle of the drain down to the floor in millimetres.

This is your P trap set out.

Measuring Your Bottom Inlet Tap

If you do have a tap to one side of your toilet this may impact which toilets will be suitable for you to use. If your tap is too close to the pan you may not be able to use a Back to Wall toilet suite unless you plan to change your plumbing. When measuring where your tap is placed please measure from the centre of your toilet to the tap and from the floor to your tap so we are able to assist you in selecting the right toilet.
